Standby Generators in Colebrook, NH

Generac generator sales, installation and service so the power stays on.

Authorized Generac Dealer

Authorized Generac Dealer. We sell, install and service Generac standby generators for homes and businesses across northern New Hampshire's North Country and Vermont's Northeast Kingdom, from our shop at 12 NH Rte 145 in Colebrook. A standby generator sits outside your building, connects to your fuel supply, and starts itself the moment it senses the grid has dropped — so the lights, the heat, and the well pump keep running whether you are home or not.

Most standby units up here run on propane, which is already piped to a lot of North Country and Northeast Kingdom homes. We size the generator to what you actually want to keep running — everything in the house, or just the essentials — and we handle the fuel connection, the automatic transfer switch, and the electrical tie-in so the whole package works together. After it is installed, we come back for routine maintenance and service so the unit is ready the next time the grid goes down.

What Our Generator Work Covers

  • Sizing and selection of Generac standby generators for whole-home or essentials backup
  • Whole-home backup that carries the entire electrical load
  • Essentials backup that keeps critical circuits running
  • Automatic transfer switch installation so the generator starts on its own
  • Propane fuel connections for North Country and Northeast Kingdom homes
  • Generator hookup coordinated with a panel upgrade or service change
  • Routine maintenance, oil and filter service, and repairs
  • Service calls for existing standby generators

Built for Rural Lines and Long Storms

Up here, the power lines run a long way through the woods and over the mountains, and a single ice storm or wind event can take them down for days. When the grid goes, so does the heat — and if you are on a well, so does the water. A standby generator that starts itself and runs on your existing propane tank means you are not draining pipes, melting snow for water, or driving south to wait it out. It turns a multi-day outage into something you barely notice.

Standby Generators — Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between whole-home and essentials backup?

A whole-home backup generator is sized to carry your entire electrical load, so everything in the house stays on. An essentials backup generator covers only the circuits you choose — heat, well pump, refrigeration, lights — which can be a good fit when you want backup power without sizing for the whole house at once.

How does a standby generator start on its own?

An automatic transfer switch monitors the utility line. When it senses the grid has dropped, it signals the generator to start, then switches your selected circuits over to generator power — usually within seconds. When the grid comes back, it switches you back and lets the generator shut down.

Do standby generators run on propane?

Most of the standby units we install in the North Country and Northeast Kingdom run on propane, which is already piped to many homes up here. We connect the generator to your existing fuel supply and size it to the load you want to back up.

Can you service a generator you did not install?

Yes. We service and maintain existing standby generators, including routine oil and filter service and repairs, so the unit is ready the next time the power goes out.

Should I pair a generator with a panel upgrade?

A generator install often pairs well with a panel upgrade or service change, and we can add whole-home surge protection at the same time so your system is protected when the power comes back on.
